RE: 2009 Raptor 36'

I don't have a problem with my Raptor and we have a couple of good dealers around, but I agree with goldwinghauler the manufacturer leaves a lot to be desired, I called them for something really simple like a copy of the blue print of a 05 3319 so I know where the studs are exactely to mount some cabinets and after talking to 3 people they said we don't send those out. So I said just e-mail it, well we don't do that. Piss poor customer relations. I figured it out on my own but it certainly would have been helpful. But I would not go as far as changing to a different unit. I don't believe that any of these !@#$%^&*(()*) company's have decent customer relations anymore, oh well so are the times i'm glad I'm old:h
By the way Navy80-04,rooky, enjoy the unit I do.USMC62-83

RE: Got my horse, now just need the carriage please help

I have a Keystone Raptor, after fixing some interior cosmetic issues and changing to 16" wheels I have been real happy with the unit. I've just had it since March but I put about 21000 miles on the old girl and she has performed flawlessly. I'm sure there are other units out there equal or better more fancy I mean than mine but it's all I need.
Good luck in your hunt I just gave my opinion of mine, in the end buy what you like. In these times you don't know who is gonna go under so I would not go by that.

RE: Loading Large Road Motercycle

ronmcc4
I tried using my reverse but as soon as the bike is at complete downward angle the angle sensor shuts it down so I can't use that. I purchase some of that non skid stuff exspensive but it won't stick to the ramp. I just use the clutch and front brake havn't had a problem yet but then I have big hands. I also keep 25lbs of air in the rear shock, but, I don't high center putting the wifes VTX in either and it sets pretty low and my ramp is very angled since I put 16"rims and tires on it

RE: Loading Large Road Motercycle

Hell, even winterized if the roads are dry practice putting it in. That way it's not altogether new in the spring. I drive mine almost all the way to the front wheel receiver I brake and stand up, slowly let out the clutch and walk it in the receiver. Mine when I drive it in it tilts forward and locks the front wheel in place. Just turn off the engine and get off. I use the grips for tie downs a plastic cup over each end interlocked with straps/ hock ends to tie down and ratchet done deal. It all depends on what you bought mine was kind of pricey but the bike don't move either and I don't exactly take my curves slow. Besides I can't afford any movement since I've got 2 full dressers side by side there is only 2.5 inch clearence between both farings. Just concentrate when you do it make sure the engine is warmed up so it won't stall on you, you'll be fine

RE: Loading Large Road Motercycle

I ride my 1800 Wing in and out the wifes VTX as well, her's is not as heavy as mine so I clutch mine coming down mine does slide a bit I've got a few skid marks but you should not high center, not on the Raptor anyway

Hi all, anybody have any thoughts been there done that of Nova Scotia.
We are planning to go next year for 5 weeks from the mid west. Been told mid Sept to mid Oct best time to go, We will be camping on the north east side of the island about 10 minutes from the Cabot trail. Then taking our motorbikes around the area. I will be taking my dogs so if we stay overnight somewhere in a motel are pets generally allowed. Camper will stay at the campground while we travel on overniters.
Thanks Slink

RE: Raptor 3612 Tire Upgrade

flRaptor
I upgraded my 05 raptor with 16" rims and wheels. I used HANKOOK 750/16's F-19 they are a 14 ply G rated tire. I also added a Pressure Pro tire monitoring system. Tires take 105 lbs but I run them at 100lbs leaving room for exspantion, I have had them on now for about 5000 miles and they show no ware whatsoever. Tire comes from Korea. 7 new chrome allum mags and 7 tires mounted and balanced $1500.00.
The Pressure Pro system is a bit exspensive but worth every dollar, it lets you know when the tire pressure goes down. The meters have been on the valve stems now for 60 days and I have lost no more than 3 lbs in a couple of tires and none in the rest.
Thats my story and I'm stickin to it

RE: Anyone back a GL1800 into their toy haulers?

I have a 3319 Raptor which sits pretty high, I drive both the 1800 Wing and the wifes VTX in forward. Have never hit the coolant tank. , but I also have the belly pan. You should be able to drive the trike right in. I back mine up with reverse just far enough to where the angle sensor shuts down the backing then put it in neutral and roll it the rest of the way. Sometimes the wife has to stand on the door to keep it all the way on the ground while going in. I will post some pics next week

RE: water problem

Might also be your hot water heater mine is under the sink next to the stove. There is a wood panel in front of it. I guess it depends on your model mine is 05 3319. I had a small leak at the HWH joint water line connection
Hope you find it.

RE: New Toy Hauler - tying down a Gold Wing

I tie a GL 1800 in my Raptor 3814.
I have e-track laid in both directions and a "pingel"-style wheel chock with e-track clips on it to locate the front wheel. I use 2 ratchet straps with "soft-ties" pulling forward over the lower fork clamp (triple-tree), making sure that the ratchets don't dig in to the fork guards or ftont fender (plastic). There is no way to get a "strut" between the front tire and the lower fork clamp - I do this on my dual-sport bike with a high (dirt-bike style) front fender.
At the rear, the best way is to remove the side covers and use a soft-tie around the frame near the front edge of the seat on each side with ratchet straps angled toward the rear. The grab handles at the seat are not strong enough (the forces will break the bolts) and the bag-guards are pretty stout in every direction other than what you need for pulling down.
Do not use the side stand for anything else other than to start the front tie-downs.
Be very careful if the ramp is steep: at the bottom, your feet won't be able to touch the ground (29" inseam talking!), and at the top, the most likely thing to drag is the plastic coolant recovery bottle between the back of the transmission and the back wheel. Besides bening a ***** to replace and costly, antifreeze and rear tires arn't a good combination!!
Put a belly pan on and you won't have that problem. Best money I ever spent. This thing is really beat up .lol
